When my husband and I first got married we were in some debt. I had just graduated from college and we moved across the entire country for my job after our honeymoon. Basically there were a lot of factors that led to us not having money. In order to save we started planning our weekly meals and stop us from saying “Well I don’t even know what we can make lets just walk across the street and get take out.” It was shockingly effective and now we do it as a fun ritual (though our modern board includes date nights on Fridays! Treat Yo’ Self!).
If anyone else wants to jump on the weekly meal train, here is the template that I use! You can click to download and use it two ways: either print one off each week and pencil it in, or place it in a frame and write over it with a whiteboard marker each day! We do the latter tree saving option!
