When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, I think my aunt Tammy explained it best when she said “If you can’t change yourself during the rest of the year, why would the first of January be any different?” Not to sound like a downer, but the point is that if you don’t have willpower to kick a bad habit completely or start a good habit during the rest of the year, January probably won’t be any different. I am a huge advocate for creating healthy habits and lifestyle choices, but this comes with a mindset more than a set rigid goal, which is why this year I will be creating a list of things I want to do more to replace things I currently do all to often. There will be times that I still mindlessly bite my nails, or skip the gym but that is OK as long as the majority of my time is expended on better habits and decisions that will make me happier in the long run!
